Camberley primary school buries time capsule.
Pupils of Hawley Primary School were invited to the site of new Camberley care home Kings Lodge to bury a time capsule in its grounds.
Toys, newspapers and a class ruler were just some of the items placed in the special vessel that will be engraved with the names of the school and its students. It will then be placed into the ground in front of the home to be opened in 50 years.
The children were also asked to name the model rhino that will sit in the grounds of the home and gave it the name – Rupert the Roaring Rhino.
The Aura Care Living development on the Kings Ride opens on the 10th July and Aura Care director, Peter Lloyd was delighted to welcome the school to the site. “It was great to have the children of Hawley up here and see what items they have chosen to put into the capsule,” he said.
“Community is important to us and we want to involve people from Camberley in the project,” he added.
The new luxury 64 bed Camberley care home is set in two acres of woodland and will offer dementia and residential care for people in their later years and those in need of extra support at a certain time in their life.
